|Early Native American Charmstones
Discovered in the territories of the Maidu Indian tribe which includes lands surrounding the Sacramento
River in California, these polished Charmstones, purportedly used as either a fishing weight or ceremonial
“charm”, with clarification still eluding archaeologists today. These "drilled" stones, thought to pre-date the
“notched” or “stemmed” stones by several hundred years, top one is 4 1/2” in length & bottom one is 3" in
length.. In remarkable condition for their age, possibly dating back more than a thousand years.
